Feb. 25 TV ratings: The Enemy Within average, The Voice down
Feb. 25 was a night of debuts for NBC. How did the network fair against its competition in the Monday TV ratings?
Monday TV ratings are in for a night of debuts on NBC. The Voice Season 16 premiered, while The Enemy Within got its series premiere. How did the network hold out against others?
Just to get them out of the way, The Resident didn’t air last night on FOX, with the network opting for a rerun of The Masked Singer instead. The CW’s Arrow and Black Lightning were also reruns. Everything else was new.

The Voice Season 16 premiered 25% down in the demo from the previous premiere. That’s not all too surprising since the previous premiere was a fall one and midseason premieres tend to be lower. The total audience was also down by 12%. However, it was the strongest show of the night across all networks.
Unfortunately, The Enemy Within didn’t keep the audience from The Voice, debuting relatively average and sitting snuggly behind New Amsterdam. If the ratings remain steady, we can expect a good chance of renewal in the future but expect a drop for the next new episode as is standard for a new show. Hopefully, with the intensity of the pilot, a drop won’t be too large.
CBS did well with all four of its shows on Feb. 25. All but Bull saw an increase in each of its metrics, with Bull seeing an increase in the demo and just a small dip in the total audience. The total audience was still the best in the 10 p.m. timeslot, which should help keep the show for another season.
Meanwhile, ABC saw mixed results. While The Good Doctor rose again by 3% and 2% in the demo and total audience respectively (we already know its safe), The Bachelor‘s two-hour episode saw a dip in the demo, coming in second place for the night at 1.8. The total audience did increase by 2% to 6.71 million.
The Passage was the disappointing show of the night. Just as it picks up in the story and gets to a point that leaves the fates of so many at risk, the ratings declined to a new series low. Both the demo and total audience saw a 6% decrease, leading to a strong likelihood that this show will be canceled. I’m not sure there’s any saving it now, unfortunately.
