The Enemy Within Episode 2 quickly got into the action. Here are the major takeaways from Black Bear, including the reason for the title.

The Enemy Within Episode 2 wasted no time in getting into the action. Titled “Black Bear,” it took until towards the end of the episode to figure out the meaning behind it but it was one of those episodes that left you guessing along with Will Keating. One thing is for sure: you don’t know who you can trust.

Mind you, Erica makes a point of saying that Will shouldn’t trust anyone. A show like this opens a world of possibilities. We know that Anna is a spy but what about others? Are there other moles in the FBI and could Erica be playing a long game?

We’ll have to wait to find out the answer to some of those questions. For now, we have major takeaways from the last episode and here are the top five.

5. Erica constantly remains one step ahead

More from NBC

After an assumed CIA agent is killed for his laptop and password, Will knows that it’s linked to Tal. That means Erica needs to be pulled in for some answers. Of course, she’s not going to cooperate fully without getting something out of it — and that’s to see her daughter.

Erica has routinely remained one step ahead. Everything she does is for a reason of her own. Her actions are selfish, and I can’t tell yet whether that’s because she’d been a spy for Tal for much longer than she claims or because she knows that she can only look out for number one.

Regardless, we saw a couple of instances where she’s planned ahead. Erica did get to speak to her daughter, where she mentioned how she missed a hat. It was clearly a code and it all linked to when Erica showed up at Hannah’s school. She’d dropped the baseball hat that she was wearing, knowing that her daughter would likely pick it up. That hat had a hidden “I love you” message in it to Hannah.
