Flack recap: 3 best scenes from Season 1, Episode 3
By Mads Lennon
Robyn and her team must save the career of a comic caught in a viral video scandal. Here are the 3 best scenes from the newest episode of Flack.
Flack certainly doesn’t back away from the ugliest recesses of the PR world. The latest unsavory character for Robyn and co. to rescue is Dan Proctor, a middle-aged comedian who launches into a bigoted routine riddled with transphobia. Unbeknownst to him, a genuinely hilarious trans comedienne was in the audience and she hijacks Proctor’s terrible show. The video of her take-down him goes viral online.
You don’t need to root for Dan though, to enjoy the show. The important thing is being entertained by Robyn and the PR team’s antics as they jump through fiery rings to save their clients tanking careers. A feat made easy by Paquin’s likeable performance and her endearing relationship with best friend, Eve.
How do they handle Dan’s problem? With cunning and lack of morale. Here are the best scenes from tonight’s episode.
3. Eve goes on a blind date.
Robyn gets the bright idea to set Eve up with a handsome man, Tom, she met in her NA group (Narcotics Anonymous). She invites him to tag along to Ruth’s birthday celebration at a club with her. Unfortunately, it would appear Robyn and Tom have more in common, and more chemistry, than he and Eve but it doesn’t stop the two from getting to know each other anyways.

Apparently, Eve is everything Tom expected in a PR girl. He finds her despicable, immediately launching into a barbed tirade against the amount of money she probably spent on her underwear for a simple night out in the club, “your underwear probably cost as much as a trip to Budapest.” He also has disdain for her stockings, “this isn’t Mad Men,” he quips. Yet all his insults do is get Eve incredibly hot and bothered (she’s twisted like that) and she tugs him into the bathroom with her for a quickie.
The dirty floors and handicap handlebar don’t do anything for Tom though, he’d rather take Eve home for an evening in his apartment. Eve, admittedly, looks a little disappointed. I guess we’ll see if these two get a second chance!
