If you’re a true crime junkie then this is a show you won’t want to miss. The main plot of Manhunt is actually based on the real crime spree of English-Romani serial killer, Levi Bellfield. He was responsible for the murders of Milly Dowler, Marsha McDonnell, and Amélie Delagrange, in addition to several other attempted murders. Bellfield was also linked to numerous other unsolved cases linking back as far as 1990.

One of the most interesting things about his case, and something the show spends quite a bit of time on, is the fact Bellfield was caught by surveillance footage. He ran a wheel-clampdown service and would drive around in the same white van, one spotted in connection with a few of the abductions. Manhunt may only have three episodes to cover the story but it’s a fascinating case.
