Supernatural to end with Season 15 — we’re not ready
The news that Supernatural will end has finally arrived — and we’re not ready for it. At least we get one more season.
Supernatural is ending after 15 seasons.
This time the news real. Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins revealed the news on Twitter today, giving fans a chance to relish the final season that will come next year. Watch their video here:

The news is not unexpected. Supernatural has been rumored to be ending for years for nothing more than it’s been around for so long. Fifteen years is a long time for a series not just one filled with monsters.

But calling it a show about monsters isn’t really fair to Supernatural. As Ackles said it in the video, it’s about family. Even though the Winchesters and friends fought constantly to save the world, we always came back to their family dynamic.
The brothers had a bond stronger than others, literally sacrificing themselves for each other. They found others throughout the seasons who became part of their clan with Bobby, Castiel, Crowley, Rowena, Jody, Jack, and so many more that would take days to list.
In the video, you can see their eyes are red as they probably cried while telling the crew. While we have seen this family on television, these are people who spent more than a decade working side-by-side. It was an emotional time for them and now for the fans.
I can appreciate that the news came from the three main actors, too. Because we could have heard it in a typical fashion of coming over a newswire, but instead they know just how much the fans care and love the show and wanted to break the news themselves.
While we certainly wonder what Collins, Ackles and Padalecki have planned next, we are just going to take time to enjoy a show that has created a fandom – no, a family.
I’m not sure how next season will go, but I’ll be here for it every step of the way.
