The Blacklist: Is Samar Navabi leaving for good? Surely not

Last night’s episode of The Blacklist dropped a bit of a bombshell with Samar. She announced she is leaving the taskforce. But is she really?
Samar is leaving. Or at least that seems to be the case after last night’s episode of The Blacklist. She dropped the bombshell to Harold Cooper in the final moments of the episode.
It’s something we have pondered for a while. When The Blacklist announced it would be back for Season 7 we looked at whether or not we would be losing a cast member based on the fact not everyone had signed contracts. Looking at the events that played out last night it, seems as though we might have been right.

So is Samar Navabi leaving?
Well, from an official point of view, we simply don’t know yet. No official announcements have been made on if she is leaving the series or not.

From a story point of view, it’s hard to see how she won’t be leaving the series. Badly injured after being underwater for so long and with no possible cure, only self-management, it was either Samar leaving voluntarily or something dreadful happening that she caused and therefore being forced to go.

Now, I would like to see something happen. Some way that sees Samar stay on. We’ve seen some crazy stuff on The Blacklist, so it certainly won’t be out of the ordinary to see some magical amazing cure for her show up. But with everything else going on I think this is the beginning of the end for Samar.
I hope I’m wrong though; I truly do. But I’m preparing myself for her exit from the show.
