WHEN I SEE AN ELEPHANT FLY -- In Tim Burton’s all-new, live-action reimagining of “Dumbo,” former circus star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children (Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins) find themselves caring—and advocating—for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. The Disney Classic, Dumbo, made its anticipated premiere in theaters. Did it soar high or play it easy? The box office numbers are in! Here are the top ten movies of the weekend.

It doesn’t matter all that much to Disney how Dumbo performed. With Captain Marvel, How to Train Your Dragon 3, and Dumbo all at the box office at the same, Disney is Cash King. Which movie did you catch in theaters this weekend? Disney’s latest live-action remake or something that is not a Disney property?

Last week, Jordan Peele’s Us ruled the top 10 at the box office, but enjoys No. 2 this week after Dumbo. This isn’t considered a defeat, however. Not only did Dumbo underperform, collecting only $45 million over the weekend, but Us gathered up another $33.6 million — that’s pretty great. Us was reportedly made with a $20 million budget and now has over $100 million domestically, for a total of $174.5 million worldwide. That’s a win all around.

In the third spot, Captain Marvel comes in with $20.5 million. The budget for the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe chapter isn’t known, but with now a grand total of $990.6 million, who cares? The movie will be reaching one billion in no time.
