Kevin Hart: Irresponsible now streaming on Netflix

Kevin Hart brings his sold-out comedy tour, Irresponsible, to the small screen as his first original Netflix standup special is now available to stream.

Kevin Hart is taking his talents to the streaming world. The comedian and international movie star is bringing his sold-out comedy tour, Irresponsible, to Netflix for his first original standup special with the streaming service. Kevin Hart: Irresponsible is not available to stream on Netflix.

In Irresponsible, Hart is getting personal. In the trailer, Hart touches on topics such as marriage, his children, and friends. In fact, Hart addresses his infidelity and how talking about it onstage has helped him through tough times. In an interview with USA Today, Hart said, “This acts as therapy for me – I don’t go to a therapist, my fan base is that. That’s my drug of choice: venting and letting it all out up there is what clears my head and puts me in a good space, you know?”

The last five months have been a roller coaster for Hart and his image in the public eye. After Hart was announced as the host for the 2019 Oscars, old tweets were dug up where Hart used homophobic slurs. At first, Hart refused to apologize at first, but Hart shorty apologized for the tweets and stepped down as the host of the ceremony. That being said, Hart did receive some good news during this time as his film, The Upside, opened at #1 at the domestic box office. The Upside ended up grossing over $120 million worldwide.

Hart is coming off of a successful 2018 where he became the world’s second highest-paid comedian behind Jerry Seinfeld, according to Forbes. Hart will look to capitalize on his success in 2019 with his Netflix special and two movies: The Secret Life of Pets 2, which is set to be released in June, and the Untitled third Jumanji film, which should arrive in theaters this December.

Hart joins a long list of comedians who have brought their stand up specials to Netflix. Notable comedians that currently have specials on Netflix are Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Amy Schumer, Ray Romano, John Mulaney, and Patton Oswalt.
