Catra’s moving up in rank and Adora’s going through a bit of an identity crisis. Here are 9 new things we learned about DreamWorks She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Season 2!

DreamWorks She-Ra and the Princesses of Power follows the journey of “an orphan named Adora, who leaves behind her former life in the evil Horde when she discovers a magic sword that transforms her into the mythical warrior princess, She-Ra.” As she navigates her life away from the Horde, “she finds a new family in the Rebellion as she unites a group of magical princesses in the ultimate fight against evil.”

At WonderCon in Anaheim this past weekend, executive producer Noelle Stevenson joined cast members Aimee Carrero (Adora/She-Ra),  Karen Fukuhara (Glimmer), AJ Michalka (Catra), Marcus Scribner (Bow), Lauren Ash (Scorpia), and Merit Leighton (Frosta) to preview new information about She-Re and the Princesses of Power Season 2.

9 things we learned about She-Ra and the Princesses of Power Season 2

1 – Catra’s competitive nature is going to continue growing in Season 2, especially since she has moved up in rank. Her focus will be on needing to impress Hordak and proving that she deserves to be in her new position.

2 – Adora is going through an identity crisis throughout Season 2. She’s always been told what to do and has been trained since childhood to be the perfect soldier. She going to find it difficult to be responsible for others and for herself, something the panel called “Adora torture.” Adora feels pressure to be perfect, and yes, there is a part of her that’s also missing her best friend. She’s also learned that the sword can turn into other intimate objects, something she’s going to find difficult to control at first.

3 – Catra’s also going to be after the princesses, but it’s because she feels as though they’re the reason Adora left her. She truly wants to just figure out how to get her best friend back, and in her eyes, defeating the Princesses will bring Adora back to her.

4 – Bow, who Scribner referred to as another princess character, will be coming into his own as the tech master of the rebellion, though he still doesn’t quite know his place within the group. Bow will continue to be someone other characters can rely on for moral support, and while he portrays positive emotions, he’s conflicted and doesn’t fully believe in himself as being a great tech-master.

5 – The Princesses are going to be working together to repair Bright Moon and the Whispering Woods, but the panel teased that they’re still figuring out how to unite their strengths together properly for the best results.

6 – In Season 2, Glimmer’s magic is more powerful because the princesses being united have recharged her abilities to a new maximum level. She’s able to teleport more people with her now, but she still does need to recharge from time to time, and it will still be possible for Glimmer to lose her abilities. She’s also gained Frosta as a (clingy) little sister-type friend, but it’s going to take Glimmer some time to warm up to Frosta’s personality.

7 – Swift Wind is bringing the comedy in Season 2. The panel talked about how Swift Wind is a teenager too in his own weird way, and that his characterization is evolving to a place where he’s become this whole individual. Swift Wind is very excited about his new role this season because he’s now able to connect to Adora’s emotions.

8 – Scorpia is more loyal than ever in the next set of episodes and her main goal is just to impress Catra with everything she does. Ash spoke on the fact that it’s an exciting time for Scorpia, someone she referred to as “a really big softie with a really hard shell”.

9 – Shadow Weaver may have been removed from her position in Season 2, but her scheming never stops. She’s going to be looking for a way to get back to her powerful state, and Catra’s not making her feel any better it. At the same time, Catra still wants Shadow Weaver to be impressed with her, and Shadow Weaver will be using that to her own advantage.

Bonus teases:

Executive producer Noelle Stevenson also played “2 Truths and a Lie” with the audience. She didn’t reveal which was the lie, but here are the three “facts” she offered.

Choice 1:  Adora and Scorpia have a girls night in

Choice 2: Shadow Weaver takes up gardening

Choice 3: Bow falls off a cliff

Which one do you think is the lie? Let us know in the comments below!
