9. Yara Greyjoy

The role she’d take: Master of Ships

Why she’d be worthy: Who would have thought that a woman could be the Master of Ships? Well, she’s not the first woman on this list in the position, but she is possibly the best choice out of the lot. While Ayra is certainly loyal and highly skilled, she doesn’t have all the experience. Yara has been groomed from a young age to be the leader of an army – and she routinely proves that the men will follow her.

Yara isn’t afraid to go up against family. While she feels for Theon, she won’t make some of the ridiculous mistakes that others have in the past. And she doesn’t just have her own interests at heart. This is a woman who will put other people first, especially her soldiers.

While many in Game of Thrones characters who have helped to win battles and have strong armies, not all of them will understand the need for some downtime. Yara does. And yes, sometimes that can lead to her making a mistake, but she knows that humans need some time onshore to relax and unwind to make them better soldiers.

One of the downsides to Yara is the sometimes silly mistakes she makes. She can also sometimes be a little too cocky, which can cause friction with others.
