2. Tyrion Lannister

The role he’d take: The Hand of the King/Queen

Why he’d be worthy Out of everyone in Game of Thrones, there’s only been one person to prove himself perfect for the role of The Hang of the King/Queen. Tyrion Lannister has made it clear that he will put the country first, remaining as loyal as possible despite his personal thoughts about the individual in charge of the country.

Unlike Ned Stark and other Hands who have come before and after him, Tyrion plans ahead as much as possible. He’s willing to put his own life on the line if he needs to, but is also extremely strategic and knows how to use others’ strengths and weaknesses in his favor.

He has empathy for others, but is still a soldier in his heart. He knows what it’s like to be unloved and unwanted, but wants to continually prove himself, which makes him an excellent member of any Small Council.

We’ve watched him serve under various monarchs. He’s acted as the Hand when necessary, changed allegiance more for the safety of his life than anything else (still with the people in his heart, and offered guidance and support without remaining loyal to his House. And then there’s the fact that he’s smart enough not to expose his whole hand until he knows whether to trust someone, which means he’s less likely to make a mistake like Ned Stark that gets him killed!
