Manifest renewed for Season 2 by NBC: What we know so far
At long last, we have a renewal confirmation for NBC’s Manifest. What do we know about the season so far?
It’s taken a while but Manifest Season 2 has takeoff approval. The mysterious drama has been officially renewed by NBC. What do we know about the season so far? Who’s returning and who may not be part of it?
A renewal should have always been on the cards, but when the first season ended without the renewal notice, many of us understandably feared the worse. Despite the excellent ratings – with an impressive uptick when the Live +7 ratings were taken into account – the network has waited months to finally give the freshman series the renewal its earned.

However, the renewal is here now. So far, it’s not clear just how many episodes the season will have. The first season was originally given the standard 13 episodes but upped to 16 after a successful start. Manifest Season 2 will likely have a shorter season, possibly between 13 and 16 episodes. This has become standard for the dramas that have a dense mythology and benefit from no filler episodes, according to Deadline.
Shorter seasons allow the storyline to remain focused on the main plot. You remember how many filler episodes were needed in LOST, right? That dragged out some of the storylines instead of just giving the number of episodes needed to tell the tale.
It’s not yet clear who is returning. The ending of the season gave us many questions about the fates of some of our characters – most notably the fates of Jared and Zeke. However, we will likely see Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, Athena Karkanis, and Parveen Kaur return, along with Luna Blaise and Jack Messina to round out the Stone family.
