Monday TV ratings for Apr. 15 see a decline for the majority of shows, including Arrow’s return and The Code’s new timeslot. American Idol was the only uptick in both metrics. Here’s a look at the details.

American Idol’s new episode was the only show to see an upward tick in both total audience and demo in the Monday TV ratings. All others either remained steady or saw downward ticks in at least one metric, including Arrow’s return and The Code in its new day and timeslot.

ABC saw an 8% increase in the total audience from the last Monday episode and a 4% increase in the demo. However, it wasn’t good enough to take the top spot for the night. Despite the small dip in the total audience, NBC’s The Voice pulled in 0.50 million extra eyeballs, sitting at 7.59 million for the night. The Voice’s demo ticked up by 8%, pulling in a 1.3 rating and claiming the top spot.

Meanwhile, The Neighborhood and Man with a Plan remained steady in the demo but saw 7% and 5% decreases in the ratings respectively. It’s not a worry for the first comedy of the night. Matt LeBlanc’s comedy is on the bubble. However, it has only seen a small 6% dip in the total audience and 10% dip in the demo on average compared to last season’s average, which is a good sign for a renewal.

The Resident saw one of the biggest drops of the night, which is disappointing considering the important message put across. Likewise, FOX’s 9-1-1 saw decreases. Neither show has to worry as they’ve both been renewed for new seasons.

Most disappointingly, Arrow lost 31% of its demo and 27% of its total audience in its timeslot change. It’s possible that fans weren’t aware the series was returning after a break for the last few weeks and won’t be used to tuning in at 9 p.m. Legends of Tomorrow did hold steady in the demo and rose 7% in the total audience to back over the million.

The Code would have been disappointing for CBS. It lost 14% of its demo and 45% of its total audience in its move to Mondays. Part of this would have been the change of night mixed with the fact that it was the second episode. Drops when there’s a night move and between the first and second episode are always common. We’ll have to wait to see next week if there’s another drop, but I doubt this show will receive a second season already.

In the 10 p.m. slot, all shows remained steady in the demo. They all dropped in the total audiences but between 2 and 4%. The Enemy Within saw the biggest drop and is now below four million viewers. Despite holding its 0.6 demo and tying in the timeslot with Bull, I don’t think this show will get a second season.

Likewise, The Fix is continually low. ABC will likely look for another show to take over that timeslot next year and we’ll be saying goodbye shortly.
