Angels aren’t trustworthy. At least, not many of them are. So, what about Duma? Can we trust her in Supernatural Season 14?

I’ll be honest and say that I’m a suspicious viewer. I don’t trust characters easily, especially when they’ve proven to be untrustworthy in the past. And this is where I stand with Duma in Supernatural Season 14.

I’ll add a note now to say that there are spoilers in this post for Episode 18.

While she will make it seem like she has Heaven at heart, she doesn’t. She is an angel with herself at heart. Now that she’s at the top of the food chain in Heaven, she’s gained confidence and found a way to make her goals known.

But are there times that we can trust her? Is it possible that what she told us about Mary Winchester was true?

Granted, she showed Castiel Heaven. She made sure that he saw everything with his own eyes, but that doesn’t make it all true, right? That doesn’t mean she was being fully honest with Castiel, does it?

Well, while I definitely think that this is the end for Mary, I don’t think Duma was fully honest. One thing I asked was why she came down from Heaven and not Naomi. Granted, this was likely a scheduling conflict. Maybe the plan was to bring Naomi back but Amanda Tapping wasn’t available — a little like how Jim Beaver got a longer stint on Supernatural because Loretta Devine wasn’t available way back in the first season.

However, we didn’t get a good enough reason as to why Naomi wasn’t around. It doesn’t help that Heaven should be failing after the Season 13 storyline but seems in one piece. All the tremors have stopped, suggesting that there isn’t a major issue up there after all — or the Season 13 plot really was just something thrown in at random to give Castiel a storyline for an episode.

Something about Duma’s attitude when she turned up to speak to Castiel seemed off. And now in the promo for Episode 19 it’s clear she’s trying to manipulate Duma. She doesn’t have honest intentions and I really don’t think Castiel or the Winchesters (or even Jack) should trust her. We certainly can’t.
