The midseason episode of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists delivered a shocking ending. Who winds up in the hospital by the end?

The investigation into Nolan’s death heats up on the midseason episode of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. Dana Booker is still sticking her nose in every crevice she can find and further secret reveals start to put a serious strain on the budding friendship between Ava, Dylan, and Caitlin. Let’s review the six biggest takeaways from Season 1, Episode 5.

6. Ray Hogadorn wrote the message on the wall of Taylor’s house.

Remember the Ray Hogadorn mystery from last week? He’s the school maintenance man and Mona pays him and his peanut brittle a visit this week. Turns out, his eagle eyes have been surveying the land of BHU long before Beacon Guard began. He has his own, tragic, experience with girls jumping off bridges.

I get the feeling Hogadorn has a soft spot for Taylor. Ray was the one to paint the creepy warning on Taylor’s walls. Why couldn’t he have just sent a letter or something, you know, not so serial killer-y?

He could prove to be a valuable ally to Mona and Alison. He certainly has no love lost for Nolan, claiming the world is better off without him in it. Ouch. Could he be the killer? I feel like he’s probably not but it’s too early in the game to rule anyone out as a suspect.

5. Dylan’s secret is out.

More from Teen Dramas

Well, that didn’t take long. In a move straight out of A’s playbook, Ava gets a surprise photo in her montage during preparation for her fashion show. A photo of Dylan and Nolan looking awfully cozy during post-coital bliss.

This leads to a rift between Dylan, Caitlin, and Ava as Ava feels betrayed by both of them now. Dylan also learns about Caitlin being the rat in their circle. But hey, at least now everything is out in the open, right?

4. Taylor is missing once again.

The fabled showdown between Alison and Taylor sputters out into a surprising kinship. Actually, maybe it’s not so surprising when you realize that Beacon Guard literally advised Claire to recruit Alison into tracking down Taylor because of their similar personalities. Alison is the go-to detective for seemingly-dead blonde girls now I guess.

Alison brings Taylor back to her old home, unknowingly luring the lamb back to the lion’s den. Her phone battery was conveniently dead during her whole trailer car chase earlier and therefore she missed Mona’s text about not bringing Taylor back to BHU. When Mona shows up to warn Alison and then Alison tries to warn Taylor… the pretend dead Hotchkiss is nowhere to be found. Did Taylor leave on her own? Maybe she decided to take Alison’s advice and pay her mother a visit.
