3. Dana Booker has been messing with Ava’s head.

Turns out, those little hints and notes Ava believed were from her father were actually from Dana Booker. That woman is sneaky AF. She somehow found out what lullaby daddy dearest was most fond of and the nickname, “dreamer”, he called her. Using these manipulation tactics, Dana was able to lure Ava out into the woods and try to blackmail her. Because that’s not super sketchy at all!

Ava, who is well-aware of Dana’s dirty tactics, doesn’t play into her hand. The big bag of money she keeps is stowed away in her car when she goes to meet up with her presumed-father. Dana doesn’t get anything on her, this time. But Ava definitely needs to be careful. Do something with that money girl! Because there is no way it makes it through the season without being stolen.

2. Mason is unconscious in the woods somewhere.

The grand plan of the Perfectionists is to kidnap Mason, drug him, and film a confession. It’s one of the stupidest ideas I’ve ever heard of and ends exactly how you think it will – in disaster. Caitlin lures Mason to a creepy cabin in the woods and the plan immediately goes awry when she learns he isn’t drinking in solidarity with his crew team until after the finals. So already, they can’t drug him.

Next plan of action? Hit him over the head and steal his phone. We don’t see what happens to Mason after that. I’m guessing he’s going to wake up pretty pissed off though. If he is actually the person behind the harassment and Nolan’s murder (which I doubt) then they just rattled a big hornet’s nest.

1. Caitlin gets hit by a car.

Karma can be fast and brutal. Not long after Caitlin finishes with Mason in the woods she gets mowed down by a speeding car. It’s clearly a deliberate act. Who was driving it? Claire perhaps? Was she that pissed off about Caitlin turning her back on the Hotchkiss family? Or maybe Dana Booker? Ava did just royally mess up her seemingly foolproof plan in the woods. Perhaps she was hoping to rattle the group by killing one off. Mason is a suspect too. I mean we don’t know how long he was left out there he could have recovered and followed Caitlin in a vengeance.

For now, Caitlin is in the same ugly corner as Hanna Marin was in season one. I wonder how long her hospital stay will be and if she’ll get a visit from Nolan in a candy striper outfit. I’d kind of like to see that.

Odds & Ends

  • I’m still suspicious of Zoey! She just feels like the early Mona of this show.
  • Mona refers to her shoplifting days with Hanna in this episode.
  • We still don’t know who Bad Bishop is. Could it be Taylor? Maybe someone from the sidelines we wouldn’t expect like Jeremy or Andrew?
  • A whole episode without a pie mention, that’s a new record.

A new episode of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists premieres April 24 on Freeform.
