By Mads Lennon
I Am Somebody’s Child: The Regina Louise Story is Lifetime’s latest film. The film stars Once Upon a Time’s Ginnifer Goodwin and newcomer Angela Fairley.
Nowadays, Regina Louise is a successful, talented author. She has made a career for herself out of being a motivational speaker and a role model for girls around the world.
But it didn’t start out that way. She had a difficult childhood, being passed through more than thirty different foster homes. Lifetime’s latest original film takes a look at the tragic, yet hopeful, story of Regina Louise. Let’s recap some of the best scenes from the movie.
3. Jeanine gives Regina the recorder.
I loved this scene between Jeanine and Regina because the recorder becomes an emblem of hope for Regina later on in the film when she is no longer able to keep in touch with Jeanine. It serves as a token of Jeanine’s love for Regina and a security blanket for the girl.
She is able to capture tender moments of joy between them and play them back to listen whenever she needs to feel the comfort of her foster mother’s voice. It is the one thing Regina takes with her during the tragic act that takes place towards the end of the film.
