Game of Thrones: Season 8, Episode 3 preview and trailer
By Kara Hedash
HBO has released a trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 3. Here is our preview for the Battle of Winterfell!
Game of Thrones truly took the notion of “the calm before the storm” to a new level. With a bloody battle on the horizon, many of those in Winterfell decided to spend their (possibly final) night among friends and loved ones. There were laughs, lots of drinking, and a few firsts.
The second episode, titled “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” featured a few more heartfelt reunions. Theon arrived in the hopes that Lady Sansa would allow him and his men to stay and defend Winterfell. Fan-favorite Tormund also made it in time to warn Jon about the proximity of the Night King’s army.
With time running out, the all-stars of the Winterfell forces came up with a plan of attack. They agreed to use Bran as bait as the Night King will most likely target him. The Night King needs to be taken out for any hope of defeating the rest of his army. In order for the plan to work, many big named characters will need to be in the heart of the fight.

In one of the second episode’s best scenes, Jaime used his powers to knight Lady Brienne. From here on out, she will be known as Ser Brienne of Tarth, the first female Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
By the looks of the trailer for episode 3, her new title has evidently given her a confidence boost, but we doubt she needed one. Brienne would have been on the front lines of the battle whether she was a knight or not. At least now she finally has the respect she deserves and her fellow fighters will see her expert skills on the battlefield.

“The dead are already here” and so is the battle that we’ve been waiting for. The Battle of Winterfell will undoubtedly be one of the biggest moments in Game of Thrones‘ history. The Night King and his army of the undead have finally arrived. Nearly every character has a role in the fight so we can assume each character will get time in the spotlight for the extended episode. Winterfell won’t go down easy but we can assume next episode will be the end for many popular characters.
Despite the army and defense tactics, by the looks of the teaser trailer, the Night King’s forces make their way into the castle. What happens inside those Winterfell walls will surely be the deciding factor of this unforgettable battle.
