Bran announced in the most recent episode of Game of Thrones he plans to act as bait to draw out the Night King. Here is why the plan is going to fail.

Are you ready for next week’s episode of Game of Thrones? I’m bloody not. The Army of the Dead has arrived at the feet of Winterfell and the battle for the living is about to begin. Bran has a plan to defeat the Night King, a plan that is going to fail.

A plan that will see Bran wait, out in the open, in the Godswood for the Night King to come for him. He believes the Night King is coming to get him. Nobody really liked the idea of this plan, but Bran wasn’t really giving them any choice.

More from Game of Thrones

In all fairness, if the Night King does seek Bran out, it would make him an easy target for the dragons. So there are some merits to the plan. He won’t be alone, alone, anyway, as Theon and the Ironborn plan to watch over Bran and keep him safe. A decision that pretty much sent Theon’s odds of surviving to zero.

None of this really matter however because ultimately, it is going to fail. Because the Night King is not going to seek out Bran. Other wights and White Walkers might, but not the Night King.

In fact, the Night King isn’t even going to be there when the Batlle takes place. Oh yes, you read that right. I theorize that in next week’s episode of Game of Thrones, the Night King will not make an appearance at Winterfell, at all.
