The manipulation of men

Later, there was a conversation between Sansa and Daenerys. For a moment, the two were on the same page but it took Dany admitting that she wasn’t the one manipulating Jon for her own gain, as Sansa believed. She’d been the one manipulated out of love.

It was clear that Sansa saw part of her old self in Dany. There was a time Sansa would have done anything for love but her view on the subject and man, in general, has changed over the years. We got this chance to see what she had been and what she was now.

In the premiere episode, I had to question whether she was too much like Cersei. There was a moment where she looked so focused on the war for the Iron Throne and had forgotten about the bigger picture. However, Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 2 changed that.

Sansa still has the short term focus in mind. She knows that winning the war against the Night King is necessary. However, she’s not taking her eyes off the big picture. Once the war is over, there is another one still to fight – and one that the North is willing to rise up against Dany for.

Sansa is done being a puppet in someone else’s game. She doesn’t want things to go back to the way they’ve always been. The North remembers everything, and they’ll never forget.
