It’s time for puppy graduation at Breaking Blind on this week’s episode of In the Dark. But will Murphy make it there in time?

Max and Murphy go on a road trip together on episode four of In the Dark. He agrees to tag along as Murphy tries to track down the mysterious Jamie who may be her only lead on Tyson’s disappearance. Here’s the three main takeaways from the episode.

3. Murphy is struggling to adjust to her new relationship.

Murphy doesn’t sleep the full night in bed with Max, she doesn’t allow him to help her at all, almost to the point it causes her to get hit by a car. Then she causes a brawl at a buffet because she forces Max to come to her aide by not letting him assist her in the first place.

Obviously it’s extremely difficult for Murphy to let anyone help her because she doesn’t want to be a burden and she wants to be self-sufficient. Jess points out that it took her like 8 years to even be allowed to pour Murphy’s cereal without getting her head bitten off. But it does come at a detriment to her budding new relationship with Max.

I have a feeling the road for them is going to be extra rocky. I mean that much is a given, but will they make it to a real long-term relationship? Is Murphy capable of that right now?

2. Jamie is Tyson’s father.

Murphy finally gets a face-to-face with Jamie after getting her name from Tyson’s supposed girlfriend. She anticipates finding a teenage girl who might know what happened to Tyson but instead it’s his father, as in, the man who abandoned Tyson at a young age. Apparently they’ve been in contact for some time now.

Jamie also claims Tyson is still alive and that they spoke to each other only a few days prior. Tyson left town for reasons unknown! It’s a pretty big bombshell to drop all at once. First learning Tyson is in touch with his dad and then learning he might not actually be dead at all. Murphy is left reeling in the aftermath.

1. Darnell is sleeping with a dirty cop.

Well apparently Darnell has an in at the precinct since the female cop of this week’s episode (whose name I didn’t catch) was seen in bed with him in the final moments of the episode! It makes sense then, why Darnell hasn’t been under much police scrutiny despite being at the epicenter of many local drug dealings and even a shooting.

What could Darnell’s ties with the police force mean for Tyson’s disappearance?
