4. Emily gets the baby across the border

It looks like there’s one happy ending after the Season 2 finale events. There are shots of Emily walking through a hallway with a baby in her arms. People are clapping and it all looks like it’s from the same scene.

There’s a later clip in The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3 trailer of Luke holding a baby and June clearly happy – Holly got out and Luke is going to raise her as him. More on that moment in a minute.

Emily getting across the border should mean that we see this storyline more. It’s about time. We’ve got to see Luke first and then Moira got across. The second season was a chance to see the Canadian view of Gilead and taking in refugees but with Emily across, it’s time to see another side to it.

Plus, I hope that we’ll get to see Emily reunited with her wife and son. It’s about time, in all honesty. I just hope that this is a big, tear-jerking moment that it needs to be and something hasn’t happened to her family once they got across the border.

3. Luke is raising Holly

With everything that’s happened, Luke is still searching for a way to get his wife back in The Handmaid’s Tale Season 3. This is perfect and does make sense. What I love the most is that we see Luke with Holly.

He doesn’t care that this baby is from another man – although I’m excited to see how it all works out if Luke, June, and Nick end up at Sunday family dinner! – but just views the child as June’s. Emily risked everything to get the baby out and he’ll know that June stayed for Hannah and so many others. She needs to fight from the inside.

I hope that the baby will help both Luke and Moira now fight from the outside. But I do hope that we see the mixture of emotions Luke initially feels knowing that June had a baby from another man – although he’ll assume that she was raped rather than consented to the nights with Nick.
