It’s Thursday but there’s no new episode of Supernatural tonight. When will the show return with new episodes on The CW?

Thursday nights have been all about Supernatural for so long now. But tonight there isn’t a new episode. There’s not even a rerun with iZombie taking over the timeslot. This leaves the question of when the show will return with new episodes.

We’re going to be waiting a while. On Apr. 25, Supernatural Season 14 wrapped with its season finale. This usually occurs in May but the shorter season has meant an earlier finale date. We should expect this for next year, too, as Season 15 is going to have a 20-episode season as well.

The 15th season, which is also the last, will premiere sometime in October. There’s no way the network will remove the show from its fall lineup. It’s just too big as the second-highest rated show on the whole network. While it may not have found a successful spin-off (possibly, yet?) the show has gained a cult and loyal following.

My current estimated date for the show to premiere is Oct. 10, 2019. However, The CW could opt to wait an extra week and run the premiere on Oct. 17 instead. Either way, we’re looking at the second or third week of October working off the premieres for the recent few seasons.

We’ll find out the full fall schedule at the May Upfronts later this month. The CW is scheduled to announce its lineup on May 16, 2019. The actual dates of premieres probably won’t come until during the summer, though.
