Not every new series makes an impact. Some are canceled after just one season. With cancellations and renewals coming in, here’s a look at the freshman TV shows from 2019 likely to be canceled.

While some new TV shows are an immediate success, others take their time. Then there are others that just don’t pick up at all. Not all freshman TV shows will make it through the 2018-2019 season. Here are the top 12 freshman shows likely to be canceled in May 2019.

More from Entertainment

For this list, we’re looking at all new shows from the 2018-2019 season. Some will be unofficially canceled already, while others have been midseason arrivals that just aren’t taking off as well as the primetime networks would have hoped. I’ll also explain why I believe the shows are going to be canceled.

I’ll work this in alphabetical order and it’s for primetime networks only in this case. That way it doesn’t look like I have favorites – after all, I like to give all shows a chance since cancellations mean a lot of people are out of jobs until they find something else.

Abby’s

As the lowest-rated NBC series, it shouldn’t be all that surprising the show is on the list. Abby’s may have a standout cast but the show just hasn’t taken hold. Is it the placement? Probably not. It aired off the back of Will & Grace at first and now has excellent positioning behind Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

I think this is just a case of being a show that fans just aren’t interested in. There didn’t seem to be that much promotion either and the trailers that I have seen for the series haven’t been anything spectacular. It reminds me a lot of Powerless, which was another NBC show that didn’t get the attention it deserved.
