This week’s episode of The Twilight Zone titled “Not All Men” focuses on a meteor crash that makes the men in a small town act crazy.

On the latest Twilight Zone episode, a meteor strikes a small town and the men start acting extremely aggressive towards each other and women, sisters Martha and Annie must figure out what triggered it and how to put an end to it before they get killed themselves.

1. Annie and Martha discuss the phenomenon.

I felt both saddened and satisfied by the conversation Annie and Martha have after they leave the wreckage of a bar scene. What woman hasn’t had a similar conversation with their best friend or sister at some point in their life? Annie divulges what happened with Dylan the previous night and she says she feels like she did something wrong. Women trained from such an early age that we must always do everything in service of men. Appeasing them and pacifying them is a priority.

It’s sad that Annie feels, even for a moment, that anything Dylan did was warranted by her rejecting him. She did nothing wrong. Martha too claims she’s been on a “million sh***y dates” and some even worse than that. Except “everyone has”. That’s what is so awful about living in a patriarchal society. It may not be “all men” but all women have a story.
