On May 13, the FOX Upfronts took place. While the 2019-2020 schedule has been the big thing, but there have also been other major announcements. Empire Season 6 will be the last, The Masked Singer Season 3 gets a premiere date, and much more. Here are all the details.
As mentioned, Empire Season 6 has been confirmed as the last. There are no plans to bring Jussie Smollet back into the series. According to FOX’s CEO, Charlie Collier, the final season will be a major television event. It’s just the latest of bigger, long-running shows to get a final season order, with Arrow, Supernatural, and Blindspot recently confirmed from other networks.

Empire is also switching nights and it’s not the only show on the move. The Resident Season 3 will no longer have its Monday night slot. It’s going head-to-head with CBS’ NCIS, taking over The Gifted’s Tuesday night 8 p.m. slot. I’ll be honest and say that this doesn’t bode well.
Bob’s Burgers and and Family Guy are also slightly on the move. They’re getting pushed back an hour for the new FOX animated comedy, Bless the Harts.
Other big news involves a couple of midseason premiere dates. The Masked Singer Season 3, which was the surprising breakout unscripted show of this season, will get a post-Super Bowl premiere slot. It will then move to its regular Wednesday night timeslot. 9-1-1’s spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star starring Rob Lowe will air a two-hour premiere on Jan. 19 after the NFC Championship, before taking up a regular timeslot on Mondays.
