Spoiler Alert! If you’re not caught up on Game of Thrones or missed the latest episode, Season 8, Episode 5 titled “The Bells,” please note there are massive spoilers ahead! You have been warned.

Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 5 was shocking. Viewers took to Twitter to express their surprise, but it wasn’t all good. In fact, most reactions on social media are from angry fans not happy with the way things went down in the Cersei vs. Daenerys war. What did you think about the penultimate episode?

Let’s dive right into the biggest WTF moments from “The Bells,” below:

#5 Lord Varys

More from Game of Thrones

Not that watching Varys die was shocking, we all knew it was coming the moment Varys expressed to Tyrion how much of a better leader Jon would make than Daenerys. However, what’s surprising is everything that surrounded this moment — specifically the fact that Varys tried to kill Daenerys. Did you miss this?

Varys is seen writing many letters, we can only assume these will be going out to different Houses to make them all aware Jon is who should be on the throne. However, Varys is also doing something else on the side: trying to poison Daenerys.

A little girl tells Varys “she won’t eat,” meaning Dany. Varys replies they’ll try again during supper. Daenerys was too depressed to eat, but she may have suspected someone trying to do her harm.

#4 Jaime and Euron

It was predictable that Jaime and Euron would be facing off during Daenerys’ rampage, but that doesn’t mean this is what fans wanted to see. Most fans wanted it to be Yara who puts an end to Euron. Unfortunately, Yara doesn’t even show up in this episode.

Something else that’s pretty WTF about this is the fact that Euron gravely injures Jaime, and that is not how we wanted Jaime to go. But speaking of undeserving deaths, there’s Cersei Lannister…
