CBS: Canceled

CBS (as well as FOX and NBC) had fewer decisions to make for its shows. They will only take up one slide each.

Multiple comedy freshman shows canceled

There were two freshman comedies that viewers expected to see canceled. CBS didn’t surprise anyone with the cancellations of Murphy Brown and Happy Together.

However, Fam was slightly surprising and a disappointment. It remained on the bubble for a long time, with its constant up and down ratings. CBS is trying with more comedies on Thursday nights.

Life in Pieces sadly canceled after four seasons

Another cancellation was Life in Pieces. After four seasons, fans will be saying goodbye to the series. Whether it’s due to lack of storylines or just a scheduling problem, CBS made the decision to bring it to an end. It was a bad day for comedy on the network.

CBS: Renewed

Man with a Plan the only renewal

Over the weekend, CBS only renewed one show: Man With a Plan. The Matt LeBlanc comedy renewal wasn’t all that surprising. It was a constant performer in the ratings and remains popular on social media. At least there was some good news for comedy fans.

Six dramas had previously been renewed

CBS had previously renewed six dramas, including SEAL Team and Bull. This happened just before the weekend, but one of the shows would come up during the CBS May Upfronts presentation. Madam Secretary was renewed for a 10-episode final season.
