Ahead of Dynasty’s season finale, Blake bends over backwards to stay out of jail, but Jeff and Dominique have other plans. Who will win?

Another day, another balancing act between crime time and jail time. The penultimate episode of Dynasty Season 2 finds Blake doing everything in his power (or lack thereof) to evade the criminal charges Jeff and Culhane have stacked against him. But now that Blake’s estranged half-sister Dominique has entered the picture, he might have met his match… or vice versa.

Elsewhere, Adam’s continued obsession with Fallon reaches odder heights, and a beloved character may not survive the season. Before the finale paves the way for more drama in Season 3, we’re making predictions as bold as the Carringtons’ battle for control. Here’s how the latest power struggle sets up the sure-to-be shocking Dynasty Season 2 closer. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

1. Jeff and Dominique won’t quite get their way.

More from CW

Does anyone else think Jeff’s being a little too optimistic about putting Blake behind bars? He assures Culhane to sit back and have patience for the process, but they weren’t privy to the other side’s own scheme (we’ll get to that). Jeff also ropes Dominique, who’s got a bone to pick with Blake over payments that stopped arriving, into the plot to take down Blake. While we certainly need more information about Dominique’s secrets, they’ll all need to up their game to clock the top Carrington.

2. But Blake and Cristal might get their way.

In the other corner of the ring, Blake and Cristal appear to have pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes. First, he makes a tabloid spectacle of his release from lockup, Cristal by his side. Then he dots all of his I’s and crosses his T’s with Fallon taking over as interim CEO of Atlantix. But the next move — involving faking a public spat with Cristal over family feuds, giving Culhane $5 million of Ada Stone reparations, and Cristal talking to the FBI — works in their favor. Culhane better watch out for these career criminals.

3. Fallon doesn’t see Adam’s next strike coming.

Surprise, surprise. Adam spent most of the episode being weird and creepy and earning Fallon’s Flowers in the Attic jab. (She also brilliantly skewered Jeff and Culhane with a perfect Rizzoli & Isles reference.) He sabotages Fallon’s big meeting, dresses as her (!!!) after hours at the Atlantix office, and tangles with Liam. Obviously, she rebounds and scores a buzzy author thanks to Liam and Kirby sniffing out a competitor’s gender pay gap, but a certain Falliam sex scene felt… off. Did Adam plant a camera in Fallon’s room? Is he graduating from leaked photos to sex tapes?

4. Sam will feel guilty about Anders.

After receiving his divorce settlement money from Steven (let’s not ask questions about these divorce proceedings since Steven is locked up in a mental health facility in Paris), Sam flagrantly copes with the heartbreak by drinking heavily, wasting his money, and being mean to his best friend Anders. Because why not, Sam buys a hotel on a whim when a manager harasses a waiter. Anders vocalizes his dissent for this purchase, only after declining a boat as a gift, and Sam responds with disparaging comments. On the walk home, Anders appears to have a heart attack, which will more than likely be nonfatal and shake some sense into sweet Sammy Jo.

5. Last year’s fire will be topped.

Remember last year’s season-ending fire that resulted in multiple cliffhangers? With all of the lingering drama Dynasty has on the board, we should anticipate an explosive finale for Season 2. It’s much too soon for Alexis to reveal her new face (or is it?), and the big finish will have more shock than Jeff figuring out Adam’s paint poisoning. Will there be a wedding? An unforeseen death? A shocking return? Will Adam’s ultimate plan reach its climax? Whatever goes down in the season ender could and should top last year’s gunfire and actual fire.

What do you hope to see in the season finale? Sound off in the comment!
