When will NCIS Season 17 premiere on CBS?

NCIS Season 16 left us with a major cliffhanger with a surprise return. Now all eyes are on when NCIS Season 17 will premiere on CBS.

After that crazy character return at the end of NCIS Season 16, there are plenty of questions about what’s to come. Fortunately, we will get to find out. Now we just need to know when that will be. When will NCIS Season 17 premiere on CBS?

Right now, we don’t have an exact date for the show to return. During the CBS Upfront presentation last month, the network announced the planned schedule for the fall and shared trailers for the new shows. However, the exact date of shows returning won’t be announced until later in the summer.

What we do know is that CBS isn’t changing its Tuesday night lineup. It makes sense considering NCIS, FBI, and NCIS: New Orleans worked so well during the 2018-2019 schedule. NCIS has always worked so well for the first slot on Tuesday nights.

By knowing we’ve got the 17th season still in the Tuesday night slot, we can also work out a rough premiere date. It’s highly likely that the show will return around Sept. 24, 2019. CBS tends to bring shows back in the last week of September, and that’s the pattern this show has followed for the last few years.

We certainly have plenty of questions about the future of the series. We ended with a major character return that had been hinted at earlier in the season. Now it’s going to change everything for a couple of other characters in the series — and we can’t wait!
