Nicole Franzel & Victor Arroyo, the last remaining Big Brother team, finish second after losing a dinghy paddle race to former Amazing Race team Tyler Oakley & Korey Kuhl.

Nicole Franzel & Victor Arroyo left the pit stop in Breinz, Switzerland in fifth place. The clue they got instructed them to fly to Split, Croatia. At the airport in Switzerland, Nicole and Victor were in line with Amazing Race teams Becca Droz & Floyd Pierce (Team Fun) and Leo Temory & Jamal Zadran (the Afghanimals). Another line opened while Nicole & Victor were waiting in line and Team Fun got in the second line, cutting ahead of Nicole & Victor.

With flights full, Nicole & Victor got standby tickets on a flight that landed only 10 minutes after the first flight. A standby ticket means you have to wait and hope somebody does not show up for the flight so you can get on. Luck was on their side and they got the tickets for the flight. This flight got Nicole & Victor to Split in third place.

Once in Split, Nicole & Victor had to go to a café and serve 3 drinks of punch to patrons at Bačvice Beach. The patrons would give them a Travelocity Roaming Gnome to keep as their companion for the leg.

After they returned the trays to the bartender, they would get their next clue. Teams also received a Travelocity Roaming Gnome teams had to take with them for the rest of the leg. They finished the task still in 3rd place.

Their next clue instructed them to go to the Marjan Cave Church. At the church, teams had to use a pulley to pull the gnome and a loaf of bread to one of the Church’s monks. They left the Church in 3rd place.

Nicole & Victor were then faced with a choice between two tasks at the detour. They could either memorize a poem while riding a large flying tube pulled by a speedboat. They would get their clue if they were able to recite the poem correctly to a poetry master.

The other choice was to go snorkeling in the Adriatic Sea and use a metal detector to search for a goblet and 5 coins. They would exchange these items for their next clue after they returned to shore. Nicole & Victor chose the poetry challenge. This decision enabled them to surge into the lead.

On the way to the roadblock, Tyler & Korey passed Nicole & Victor. Nicole elected to perform the roadblock for her team. The roadblock took place at Diocletian’s Palace.

For the roadblock, Nicole had to go to the senator’s room and watch 18 Roman soldiers march in formation. After the soldiers covered themselves with shields, Nicole had to get on a podium and correctly identify five soldiers wearing red ribbons around their helmets. Given the difficulty of the task, Nicole teamed up with Korey to complete the roadblock.

Nicole and Korey completed the roadblock before the remaining four teams showed up. The next clue instructed them to go Matejuška Pier. At the pier they had to row themselves in a dingy to the pitstop.

The leg came down to a dinghy paddling race between Amazing Race team Tyler & Korey and Nicole & Victor. Tyler & Korey out paddled Nicole & Victor to win the leg. Nicole & Victor finished second.

Tyler & Korey Make Amazing Race history

By beating Nicole & Victor to the mat in leg 9, Tyler & Korey made Amazing Race history. They passed Dave Brown Jr. & Rachel Weis (The Amazing Race 20) for the most career first place finishes in Amazing Race history with 9. Should Tyler & Korey win leg 10, they would tie Justin & Diana Scheman (The Amazing Race 27) for most consecutive first place finishes with 5.

Nicole & Victor Are the Last Remaining Non-Amazing Race team

Survivor’s last remaining team, Chris & Bret were eliminated in Croatia. With Chris & Bret’s elimination, we now have four remaining Amazing Race teams (Team Fun, the Afghanimals, Tyler & Korey, and Colin Guinn & Christie Woods). There is also one remaining Big Brother team (Nicole & Victor). Two other Big Brother teams (Janelle Pierzina & Britney Haynes and Rachel Reilly & Elissa Reilly Slater) were eliminated in legs 6 and 8 respectively.
