12. Fleabag

Run date: 2016-2019

Why you should watch: Phoebe Waller-Bridge created and starred in the two-season wonder, Fleabag. This is one of those shows that routinely breaks the fourth wall, developed from a one-woman show into a TV series.

Fleabag is unapologetically funny, offering real characters with flaws that you can appreciate. Fleabag is an angry woman, full of grief and questions. Yet, she keeps trying to hold up the bravado, making it look like she’s fine and dandy to everyone else.

There are two seasons available and this is all there’s going to be. Well, that’s unless Waller-Bridge changes her mind later. She did after the first season, after all. Now is your chance to get caught up in case she decides there are more stories to tell!

Also. 7 shows that didn't survive the loss of a main character and 7 that did. light

11. Midsomer Murders

Run date: 1997 to present

Why you should watch: This isn’t going to be one of the British TV shows you want to binge-watch. With 21 seasons to get through, it’s going to be a show you want to take your time with, which makes it perfect for the summer when so many shows are on hiatus.

Midsomer Murders is one of the oldest detective shows running. It’s seen cast changes over the years but that’s to be expected. One thing is for certain: it still has a special place in the hearts of many around the world.

If you want the whodunits set in a sleepy British village, you’ll want to check out the series. There’s one thing you won’t want to do and that’s live in Midsomer!
