SINGLE PARENTS – “Summer of Miggy” – (ABC/Ron Tom) BRAD GARRETT /

Single Parents is the perfect feel-good series to rewatch this summer. But if you’re short on time, here are the five funniest episodes.

Single Parents became an immediate favorite of mine from the crop of new fall shows last year. I’m super glad it got renewed, and I know I’ll be revisiting some of my favorite episodes before the series returns for its second season.

This list is my official top five ranking of the funniest episodes from season one of the series. It was challenging to narrow it down because there hasn’t been an episode I disliked yet, but ultimately, I’m satisfied with my choices.

5. Season 1, Episode 17 – “Summer of Miggy”

Of all the single parents on the show, Miggy is the one who got the least amount of screen time, so I was happy to see a Miggy-centric episode. “The Summer of Miggy” deals with Miggy’s concern about growing up and out of touch with his youth. He throws a rager to try to remember the good old days and realizes it’s not really who he is anymore.

There are some priceless moments between the parents in this episode. Also, Owen meets Graham for the first time, and Graham punches him in the face. But then they bond over plants and all is well.
