5. Give Laura more to do.

Another character who needs more to do in season two is Laura Baker. Laura is Billy’s wife and mother to Olivia and Jordan. She had more of a background role throughout the majority of season one. Her role was increased towards the end of the season when news of Billy’s affair came to light.

She also assisted in bringing down Tyrone. I think Laura is a nice fit for the series it would be great to see her have more scenes with her children or even Grace. I think there is a long overdue conversation to be had with her and Billy’s ex.

4. Focus on exploring Cory and Spencer’s relationship.

With Cory back in town, and apparently here to stay, we should be getting more exploration of the relationship between him and his son Spencer. In the Season 1 finale of All American, Spencer was dealt a difficult ultimatum: stay in Beverly or move back to Crenshaw to play for Cory’s team as the new coach at Crenshaw High.

We should have the answer to his decision in the season two premiere. Either way, there are plenty of opportunities for Spencer and Cory to talk. Will we find out Cory has ulterior motives? Will they become close? Will Spencer growing close with Cory cause problems in his other relationships? There is are lots of dramatic beats to be mined here.

3. More interaction between Crenshaw and Beverly characters.

I’d like to see more crossover between Crenshaw characters and Beverly Hills characters. There was quite a bit of Beverly Hills students going to Crenshaw in Season 1 but not as many the other way around.

I’m not necessarily sure what the reasoning would be but if the writers could make it happen I think it would be a cool way to shake things up and allow for more varied relationships. I’d love to see Layla and Coop hang out or Olivia and Grace. There are plenty of varied opportunities with this idea.

2. Layla needs a plot not involving her love life.

Most of Layla’s storyline in Season 1 involved her love life. First, it was her relationship with Asher, then it was her relationship with Spencer. I’d like to see her get a new plot that doesn’t revolve around her romances.

It seems like All American was hinting at that possibility in the finale when Layla appeared to have a breakdown. She had Olivia by her side. I’d love to see Olivia and Layla working more on their friendship now that they’re in a good place.

1. Grace should be able to have some fun.

Grace finally got to have a love life towards the end of season one when she began dating college professor, Micah! The two of them are super cute. But even if their relationship doesn’t last, it would still be nice to see Grace continuing on her own path outside her sons.

Obviously, she loves her kids more than anything but she deserves to relax and pursue her passions too! I would love to see Grace in the dating world more, whether it be with Micah, or someone else.
