3. Vic begins to see the world for what it really is.

The Shorter Way Bridge takes Vic to the House of Sleep, Bing’s house. Initially, Vic refuses to believe Bing could be capable of harming anyone, especially a child. Maggie points out that Innscapes are never wrong, this weighs heavily on Vic.

No one is black or white. Morality is all shades of grey. Once Vic begins to understand this, she reconciles the Bing she thought she knew with the Bing who is capable of murder.

Saddened by the eventual discovery of Sharon’s body, Vic locks the door at home. Opening her eyes to the darkness in her world involves recognizing the man her father can quickly become. He’s good, until he isn’t, just like Bing.

2. Bing killed and disposed of Sharon.

Speaking of Sharon, Bing kills Haley’s mother with his trademark method – a nail gun to the head. We get a peek inside Bing’s house, decorated like Christmasland with celebratory cookies. He has wholly bought into Manx’s philosophy.

It costs Sharon her life as Bing gasses her again. Vic discovers her body buried nearby and breaks down into sobs. There is no more hiding for her. She has to stop Charlie Manx.

1. Danny welcomed Haley into Christmasland.

As a reward for giving him the information he sought on Vic, Manx delivers Haley to Christmasland. There she greets Danny, who invites her inside to play a game.

All Haley wants is what any child wants, to be loved forever and to have real friendships. Manx understands what abused children desperately crave most is love and kindness. He uses that as the bait.
