Detective Pikachu on DVD and Blu-ray in August 2019
It’s finally time to see Supernatural’s Kathryn Newton in one of the blockbuster movies of 2019. Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is on DVD and Blu-ray in August.
Kathryn Newton is certainly making a name for herself. Just recently, you’ve been able to watch her in Netflix’s The Society, in HBO’s Big Little Lies, and now the blockbuster movie, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu. You can soon own the third one on that list on DVD and Blu-ray in August.
The Supernatural actress took on the lead female role in the movie based on the video game. She’s a journalist called Lucy Stevens and absolutely nothing like her Supernatural/Wayward Sisters character, Claire Novak. Now you’ll get a chance to watch Newton in action at home.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu will be on DVD and Blu-ray on Aug. 6, 2019. You can already pre-order it on Amazon, where you can grab the Price Guarantee. Whatever price it drops to up to the release of the movie, you’ll get it at the lowest price possible.
Can’t wait for August? If you like movies only on Digital, then you can grab it on Amazon Video (and other major Digital suppliers) on July 23, 2019. See! There really isn’t that long to wait for the movie.
Like many movies based on video games and other source material, the audiences certainly loved Detective Pikachu more than the critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has an 81% audience score but a 67% critics score. It’s certainly something for the SPN Family to check out, even if it’s just to see Kathryn Newton as someone very different to Claire Novak.
