Avengers: Endgame is back on the Top 10 at the box office, but did it beat Avatar?
By Sandy C.
Avengers: Endgame has turned from Avengers vs Thanos to Avengers vs Avatar. Did our heroes take the crown as highest grossing movie of all-time?
Whatever it takes? Did you go re-watch Avengers: Endgame this weekend? The movie came so close, but not close enough! Even after its re-release, Avengers: Endgame did not manage to beat Avatar. The latter continues to be the highest grossing movie of all-time as Endgame has no choice but to settle for second.
Over the weekend, thanks to its re-release, Endgame gathered a cool $5.5 million domestically, a number many new debuts wish they could make after being in the theaters for so long. Unfortunately, however, Endgame was in need of a lot more than that to beat Avatar.
Endgame’s new estimated total worldwide is $2,761.3 billion, while Avatar holds the record with $2,788.0 billion. Did you think Marvel had a chance to take the throne from James Cameron’s movie?

Personally, I’m surprised Endgame didn’t beat Avatar weeks ago. I’m shocked Cameron is still champion. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe having one of the largest fan bases on the planet, I imagine surely this task would be difficult, but not impossible.
Should Marvel call it quits? The film will continue playing this week, so more money is coming. However, the number of theaters the movie will play at will heavily decrease as the days pass, as well as the showtimes. It’s time to admit it. I would love to be proved wrong, but it is highly unlikely Tony Stark’s final chapter will dethorne Avatar.
