Stranger Things is off and running in Season 3. Episode 2 is The Mall Rats, and it’s all about budding relationships, Eleven’s awakening, and the return of evil.

The first episode of Stranger Things set the stage, but there are still a ton of surprises and exciting moments left to come. For instance, how will Billy deal with his Mind Flayer encounter? What will Hopper do to sabotage Eleven and Mike as a couple? Speaking of love, does Dustin really have a girlfriend?

Caution: Huge spoilers ahead. Turn away now if you haven’t binge-watched the series.

The Upside Down returns

What is this new monster? How do you say Mind Flayer in Russian? Whatever it is, it’s good at making rat bombs. Either way, Billy somehow escapes from the derelict building into which he was dragged. Frantically, he runs away and tries to call for help.

Something is drawing him away, however, and he feels compelled to meet it. Eventually he walks towards what looks like an army in the foggy darkness, with shadowy tendrils reminiscent of the Mind Flayer. As he gets closer, Billy comes face to face with himself. Whatever it is, it wants Billy to do some bidding for it, and he almost seems hallucinatory about the entire ordeal. Hopefully part of the evil, Upside Down job requirements are a clean shave and a haircut.

Let’s be real: Nobody other than the mothers at the pool really like Billy. That’s including viewers of Stranger Things. If he runs into problems, there won’t be many tears shed.
