Trapped Model is the latest Saturday night thriller on Lifetime. We’re tracking five non-glamorous moments from a chilling film about modeling gone wrong.

If you’re ever considering pursuing a career in modeling, I hope you don’t make even a smidgen of the mistakes Grace did in Lifetime’s latest thriller, Trapped Model.

Grace does her best to get her headshot out there, but no photographers are biting. Or, the ones who do bite are total creeps. She finally finds an ad offering a place to stay, lucrative pay, and artistic photographs. It sounds like the perfect fit!

But when Grace shows up in Miami (leaving behind a note for her mother and boyfriend with no info about where she’s going) she quickly finds out Hunter isn’t looking for a typical model. He’s more into the sex trafficking, forced captivity, online snuff film type of stuff. Did Criminal Minds pass on the plot of Trapped Model?

5. It’s way too good to be true.

That old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is,” would have been a valuable moral for someone to have instilled in Grace before her internet search. An advertisement offering everything a model could ever dream of all with a simple click of a button is as sketchy as it comes.

Falling prey to desperation and frustration over her boyfriend and mother trying to coax her into going to college instead, Grace accepts the deal. Hunter even sounds like a perv on the phone. I guess desperate times call for desperate measures?

It doesn’t take long for Grace to learn Hunter has a sinister agenda. He invites her into his home and then plies her with alcohol before conning her to stay the night. When she tries to leave, she finds out she’s trapped!

Hunter’s real plan for Grace is to use her as his cam girl to rake in the money and notoriety by forcing her to strip and dance provocatively on a porn site. Gross.

4. The jealous girlfriend.

Surprisingly, Hunter isn’t doing this all on his own. He has an equally sketchy girlfriend named Nicole. She helps Hunter entrap girls by picking them up at the airport and filling their heads with lies.

Before Grace, there was another girl who managed to escape from Hunter’s clutches. She begins the film by dying! The stakes are dire.

But Nicole isn’t without her personality issues. You’d have to be to become complicit in something like this. She gets jealous of Hunter’s infatuation with Grace. At one point, she breaks into the guest house intending to kill her and Hunter is forced to break it up. I’m surprised he didn’t whip out a camera to film it.

3. Dressing room cry for help.

Realizing all efforts to escape from her room are in vain, Grace begins to concoct a new plan. She starts to comply with all of his demands. She performs with enthusiasm and elegance in front of the camera. Slowly, Grace begins to lure Hunter into a false sense of security.

When she’s reached a point of trust (he starts comparing her to his mother – always a good sign with these mommy-issues-having psychopaths), he offers to take her out for a day of shopping.

Alone in the dressing room, Grace pricks her finger and tries to write a plea for help on the mirror in her blood! Not a bad decision Grace, too bad Hunter catches on. She also shoplifts on the way out to try and get the clerk to call the cops. She might be smarter than your average Lifetime heroine.

2. Stiletto through the eyeball.

With getting out of the room proving impossible, Grace finds a way to bring help to her. She starts a fire in her bedroom with some of her painting supplies. I have no idea if what she did is a real thing or not since I barely scraped a C in chemistry class, but she triggers the smoke alarm.

Hunter rushes out to see what she’s done, and Grace manages to stab him with a stiletto straight through the eyeball! I actively cheered at this point of Trapped Model. That’s what he gets for not giving her any comfortable footwear.

1. A kiss of death.

Sadly, nothing works. The cops leave before checking out the guest house. Matt, Grace’s boyfriend, shows up to save her and gets knocked out.

Still, Grace refuses to give up! She recalls a critical moment from her first night with Hunter. He’s deathly allergic to nuts. Grace stole an energy bar from the kitchen earlier, and she smothers it all over her mouth before giving Matt a “private show.” She plants a big ol’ wet kiss on Hunter and sends him into anaphylactic shock.

Hunter tries to get his EpiPen but Nicole, finally having enough of him (sex trafficking, kidnapping, forced camming, blackmail, are all fine, but she draws the line at being implicated in murder?) Nicole shoves his EpiPen down the garbage disposal. Hunter dies on the front porch. At the end of Trapped Model, Grace is finally able to get free!

As for Nicole, she got stabbed in the scuffle with Hunter, can’t say I care if she lived or died, but we don’t find out for sure either way.
