Now that Spider-Man: Far From Home is out in theaters, it’s that time where we take a look at the future of Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Please note: There are spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: Far From Home and other MCU chapters. If you haven’t seen the movie in theaters, proceed at your own risk!

What has made Spider-Man’s arrival in the MCU exciting and refreshing is that these films have introduced characters that have not had big screen adaptations while taking traditional characters and giving them a unique twist.

Two villains that did not appear in Spider-Man’s first five films – Mysterio and Vulture – made their big screen live-action debuts in the MCU. They joined Michelle Jones as Parker’s love interest MJ, a younger version of Aunt May, and a different spin on Flash Thompson. All these things add up to create a fresh and exciting era of Spider-Man in film.

We don’t know much about Phase Four of the MCU or what the next film in the Spider-Man series will be titled, but it’s easy to assume that “home” will be in it. Since the Wall-Crawler has returned to New York after vacationing in Europe, maybe Spider-Man: Homebound, anyone? Then again, with his identity revealed to the world during the first post-credit scene, that may complicate things.

Here are some predictions for the future of Spider-Man in the MCU…
