Kathryn Newton starts production on The Society Season 2 from Netflix

The Society has officially been renewed for Season 2. Supernatural’s Kathryn Newton has started production on the Netflix Original.

Kathryn Newton is best known to Supernatural fans as Claire Novak, but she’s taken on the role of Allie in Netflix’s The Society. After a lot of quiet, the show has finally been renewed, but that’s not all the news. Newton and her co-stars have now started production.

It’s not clear exactly when the videos from the cast were taken and put together. Production may have started a few months ago for all we know. Newton shared in the video that they’re “making Season 2 of The Society.”

There’s no suggestion that production has only just started, but it’s likely that it didn’t start too long ago.

There are certainly many questions for the second season, with some surrounding Newton’s character. This is where we’ll start to get a little spoilery for the end of the first season, so if you haven’t watched it yet, I’d suggest you check up on why we think the Netflix Original is worth watching.

Allie was last seen arrested by the Guard. Plenty of lies about her trying to rig the voting system were brought up, and it looks like many of the teenagers believe the new defacto leaders. However, there are plenty who don’t. This will certainly create tension and Lexie will need to figure out what to do with Allie before there’s total chaos.

Of course, she can’t just execute Allie. Unlike one of the other characters, Allie hasn’t been found guilty of anything. There’s been no court case. Killing Allie will make her a martyr for those who stand by her. Plus there are more serious problems that Allie seemed to have some good solutions for — mainly trying to figure out how to survive the next winter as food supplies are running low.

Hopefully, we’ll get the answers soon. All we know is that Newton’s acting future is bright and now she’s working on The Society Season 2.
