Emmy Awards 2019: Who’s nominated for an Emmy this year?
By Sandy C.
The 71st Emmy Awards have captured our full attention now that all the nominees have been announced! If you missed the news this morning, we’ve got the main 2019 Emmy nominations for you, below!
Earlier today, July 16, in a live ceremony, Ken Jeong and D’Arcy Carden took the stage to present audiences with the nominees for the 71st Emmy Awards. Long before going into this, we all prepared for surprises, shocks, and noteworthy moments, each is bound to happen when it comes to award nominations.
One of the most notable nominees is Game of Thrones. As you’ll find below, four of the six spots for nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama are held by GoT women: Gwendoline Christie, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams. The men also lead the Supporting Actor in a Drama category with three spots: Alfie Allen, Nikolaj Coster, and Peter Dinklage.
We knew Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington would be scoring nominations for Game of Thrones, but didn’t imagine the supporting cast would land as many spots as they did. The Emmys area also giving a lot of praise to HBO’s Barry, AMC’s Better Call Saul, and Prime Video’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Netflix’s When They See Us also clearly captivated audiences and critics, and it’s obvious by its long list of nominations.
