It’ll be a while before Roswell, New Mexico returns for its second season. While waiting, why not keep yourself in the mood with some alien-themed films?

The first season of Roswell, New Mexico wrapped up with its grand finale a few months ago. Unfortunately, as a mid-season series, it’s unlikely we’ll see season two until early 2020.

Sadly, we probably won’t get a trailer or any significant teasers for the new season for several months either. However, if you want a rest from rewatching the show on Netflix, why not keep yourself in the alien mood by watching a couple of films starring some famous extra-terrestrials?

5. Attack the Block (2011)

  • Directed by: Joe Cornish
  • Starring: John Boyega, Jodie Whitaker, Luke Treadaway, Alex Esmail, Nick Frost, and Franz Drameh
  • Where you can watch: It is streaming on STARZ if you have a subscription. Otherwise, you can rent it from iTunes, Amazon, Vudu, YouTube, GooglePlay, FandangoNOW, or the Playstation Store.

Before John Boyega played Finn in Star Wars and before Jodie Whitaker portrayed the first female doctor on Doctor Who, the pair were co-starring in a terrifically entertaining alien film called Attack the Block.

The movie follows a group of teenagers who have to defend their neighborhood against aggressive aliens. Attack the Block currently sits at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its critical acclaim, it’s one of the lesser-known alien-themed movies, but I promise you it’s worth watching!
