A certain Riverdale character goes from being a murdered twin to a teenage prostitute in the small town of Purity Falls in Lifetime’s latest movie.

We finally cracked the mystery of Riverdale’s murdered twin, Jason Blossom. He moved to another creepy small town called Purity Falls, where he became a teen prostitute! It all makes sense now. Just kidding. Kind of.

Trevor Stines, who played (plays?) Jason on Riverdale, also plays the main character in Lifetime’s newest Saturday night thriller and guess what his name is? JASON. Plus, he also joins the wrestling team! Those are some strong coincidences if you ask me.

Anyway, moving on to the main plot of Purity Falls, this movie is pretty bonkers, even by Lifetime standards. If you haven’t watched the movie yet and want to avoid spoilers, you should turn back now.

As I mentioned above, Jason (not Blossom), sleeps with his hot neighbor, Courtney (Olivia D’abo). Courtney is all, oh my god Jason I’m going to hire you for my landscaping service, and you can help your mom pay the bills!

See, Jason’s father died, and that’s why he, his mother, and his sister who only has like two lines, move to Purity Falls in the first place.

Plus, he meets a cool guy at school that recommends he should see Courtney for work. It’s kind of funny that neither his new friend or Courtney warns Jason he has just signed on to be a male escort. Instead, Courtney sends him over to maneater Karen’s house (played by Zelda Spellman, Beth Broderick, herself from Sabrina the Teenage Witch).

Karen thinks she’s about to get her hands dirty in more ways than one. If any landscaping was on her mind, it involved a razor and some bathtub bonding, not hedge shearing like Jason pictures. Needless to say, the kid is spooked.

He returns to Courtney who is pissed he didn’t slip between the sheets with her client. At first, Jason is like no way I am doing this! But then his mom cries (she does that basically the whole movie) and Courtney offers him a used car, and suddenly he’s like “well okay, why not? What could possibly go wrong!”

A lot, Jason. A lot could go wrong.

And it does! The beginning of the film showed us someone murdered in Purity Falls. We find out later it was one of Courtney’s boys. There’s like, another, dueling pimp in the town named Benjamin, who I think is a teenager? That also wants to steal escorts and start a service. This is a really messed up town. Jason might have been better off with the murderous dad in Riverdale.

Eventually, things get sticky because Jason shows up at Karen’s to finally seal the deal when her husband comes home! He catches Jason’s belt on the floor and gets PISSED. Now Karen is blackmailing Courtney.

Then Karen dies. Courtney doesn’t want all these murders to get back to her, so she confronts Benjamin. He also dies. On her kitchen floor.

Well, then things get really weird. Courtney invites Jason over for some kind of kinky threesome with her and the town mayor. In reality, Jason just wants to go over there and find her teenage call boy book so he can put an end to this entire thing once and for all.

When he slips into the bedroom, they have a BALL GAG on the bed. Can you even show those on TV? And some other items that would make even Christian Grey blush.

Jason doesn’t make it out in one piece. The mayor catches Jason, and a scuffle ensues. Courtney whips out a gun and almost kills Jason, but he manages to escape. Everything gets wrapped up because Jason’s mother finally catches on to something weird going on across the street and runs over to help.

A few months later, they’re all living happily ever after. As if their teen son didn’t get caught up in a sex trafficking ring as a minor. But a block party barbecue can fix anything I guess.
