From the Blair Witch Project to the Final Destination movies, find out all the horror films coming to Hulu in August 2019.

With the end of summer looming on the horizon, Halloween is beginning to sound increasingly enticing. The fall season is approaching and that means the creepiest time of year is right around the corner. It’s time to break out the horror movies and get in the spooky spirit!

Hulu is bringing several new horror movies to its platform in August 2019. You’ll be able to watch the Final Destination movies, the original Blair Witch Project and Bloody Valentine, plus much more! Check out this complete listing of all the horror movies coming to you next month:

Army of Darkness (1992)

  • Available: August 1 with the STARZ add-on.
  • Starring: Bruce Campbell and Embeth Davidtz

A continuation of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead franchise, Army of Darkness sees Ash and his trusty chainsaw transported back in time to Medieval ages.

More from Hulu

While there, he is captured by the evil Lord Arthur. He must track down the Book of the Dead, a tool that gives its owner the ability to summon an army of undead.

Blair Witch Project (1999) and Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (2000)

  • Available: August 1 with the STARZ add-on.
  • Starring: Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams, Joshua Leonard, Kim Director, Jeffrey Donovan, Erica Leerhsen, Tristine Skyler, and Stephen Barker Turner

The original Blair Witch, released in 1999, is one of the most famous found-footage movies of all time. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s worth a watch just to ensure you understand all the modern-day references to the film. The story follows a group of three student filmmakers who attempt to make a documentary feature on the legend of the Blair Witch.

The 2000 sequel is somewhat meta in that it follows a group who go explore the same place where the original documentary was shot and begin to experience paranormal activity while they’re there.

My Bloody Valentine (1981)

  • Available: August 1.
  • Starring: Paul Kelman, Lori Hallier, Neil Affleck, Don Francks, Cynthia Dale, Alf Humphreys, Keith Knight, and Patricia Hamilton

You may have seen the 2009 remake of My Bloody Valentine starring Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles, but have you ever actually watched the original slasher film? As the title suggests, a vengeful maniac goes on a killing spree on Valentine’s Day.

A group of young adults discovers this when a killer in mining gear shows up half-way through to crash their party. I guess he really doesn’t like Hallmark greeting cards.

Body at Brighton Rock (2019)

  • Available: August 29.
  • Starring: Karina Fontes, Casey Adams, Emily Althaus, Miranda Bailey, Martin Spanjers, Matt Peters, Susan Burke, and John Getz

Premiering at this year’s South by Southwest film festival, Body at Brighton Rock has been one of the buzzier new horror flicks of the year. But if you missed its spring release, you can now watch the movie for free with your Hulu membership.

The movie follows a part-time state park employee who takes a rough tail assignment to prove she can. But then Wendy takes a wrong turn and stumbles upon a potential crime scene. She does her best to remain calm, but with no way to communicate with the others and nowhere to go, Wendy must try to figure out what happened to the body before it’s too late.

Escape Room (2019)

  • Available August 17 with STARZ add-on.
  • Starring: Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Tyler Labine, Nik Dodani, Jay Ellis, and Yorick van Wageningen

This psychological horror film will give claustrophobes nightmares and make you think twice before ever entering an escape room again. A group of strangers are brought together to play in one of the most “realistic” escape rooms ever invented. If they beat the game, they’ll be rewarded with a cash prize. But none of them realize how deadly the game is about to become.

Final Destination 1-4 (2000-2009)

  • Available: All four films are available on August 1

Someone has a hallucination of everyone dying in a freak accident, whether it be in a plane crash, a high-way pile-up, or roller coaster gone awry, there are no survivors. Except, wait, it’s just a dream! But said dreamer decides to warn everyone anyways and they narrowly avoid whatever ghastly accident was about to occur.

But Death doesn’t like to be fooled. Everyone who should have died in said accident will be hunted down, one by one, fated to die a grisly death in the order they should have died in the premonition.

That’s the plot of every Final Destination film and now you can watch the first four movies for free on Hulu! They’re super cheesy and entertaining. Unfortunately, the fifth one will not be made available this month.

Into the Dark: School Spirit (2019)

  • Available: August 2
  • Starring: Corey Fogelmanis, Annie Q., Jessi Case, Julian Works, Philip Labes, and Hugo Armstrong

If you’ve been keeping up with Hulu’s Blumhouse horror anthology, Into the Dark, then you know every month they release a new horror movie based on a holiday or monthly theme.

In the eleventh episode, School Spirit, a group of teenagers are caught in detention when they begin to experience a haunting.

Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003)

  • Available: August 1
  • Starring: Ray Wise, Jonathan Breck, and Nicki Aycox.

The Creeper returns in this sequel. Despite the scarecrow motifs that can be found in this trilogy, this is the only film where the Creeper actually disguises itself as one. The movie follows a school bus carrying a high school basketball team.

The bus breaks down along the way and suddenly it seems like this group of teens is about to become the perfect prey for the Creeper, who emerges every twenty-third spring to consume twenty-three humans.

Rosemary’s Baby (1968)

  • Available: August 1
  • Starring: Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes, Ruth Gordon, Sidney Blackmer, Maurice Evans, and Ralph Bellamy

With Once Upon a Time in Hollywood arriving in theaters soon, now might be a good time for you to watch this iconic horror film. It has surprising ties to Sharon Tate’s life story and the eventual Manson murders.

The 1968 horror movie follows Rosemary and Guy Woodhouse, newcomers to the Bramford in New York City. Not long after living there, Rosemary becomes pregnant. But she begins to suspect that the tenants in her building may have evil intentions towards her and her unborn child.

Hulu plans begin at just $5.99 a month, with your first trial month free.
