Alita: Battle Angel is now on Blu-ray and DVD, and with 2 hours of extras, it’s definitely worth your money.
The physical copies of Alita: Battle Angel, which includes 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray, 3D and DVD, arrived earlier this week. The studio was very generous with this release, including many bonus content specials in even the DVD copies.
Is it worth the purchase? Definitely! Below is a quick review of the film and everything included in the discs. Haven’t seen the movie? No worries, there are no spoilers ahead!
Alita: Battle Angel is a movie you have to see in theaters for the best experience. It’s that stunning and bold. However, if you missed it at the movies, owning it on Blu-ray is a great second chance. Usually, it’s not recommended you buy a Blu-ray or DVD of a movie you don’t see in theaters. Physical copies are for fans of the movie who wish to own the film to re-watch and soak in all of the bonus content.

Why? For many, the risk of dropping up to $30 on a Blu-ray/DVD only to not enjoy the movie is too high. Who wants to waste money nowadays? However, this isn’t the case with Alita: Battle Angel.
The movie is brilliant and the Blu-ray picture is as bright and attractive as it was on the big-screen. The audio also matches the quality. If you have surround speakers, you’re in for a treat!
If Alita: Battle Angel fits your genre and you feel intrigued by the story and cast, definitely run to buy this movie when you get a chance! Now, let’s dig into all the bonus features sure to make you love the film even more.
I received the Blu-Ray/DVD combo from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, and my copy includes:
- Alita’s World: A deep look into the world of Alita: Battle Angel comics
- The Fall: The war that nearly destroyed two planets and set the stage for the Alita
- Iron City: Hugo gives a guided tour of the Iron City
- What it Means to be a Cyborg
- Rules of the Game: Motorball — how to play
- From Manga to Screen
- Evolution of Alita: How Alita was brought to life
- Motorball – Inside Iron City’s favorite pastime
- Q&A: James Cameron, Robert Rodriguez and cast
- Robert Rodriguez’s 10 Minute Cooking School
- 2005 Art Compilation (2019)
- Scene Deconstruction: The stages used in production
The extras truly feature the creative minds and magic that brought Alita: Battle Angel to life. It makes the viewer (especially fans who watched Alita in theaters) appreciate the film so much more. Despite all the bonus content, though, the extras don’t include a much desired commentary. It was such an amazing and long journey that was taken to make the movie a reality, that a commentary would have been such a treat to have!
Still, we can’t complain too much as the movie does include plenty to keep you busy and amazed long after watching the movie.
Alita: Battle Angel is available on Digital, Blu-ray and DVD. Will you be making the purchase and watching the movie this weekend?
