All eyes are on returning characters in Supernatural Season 15. To celebrate Timothy Omundson’s birthday, we’re looking at the possibility of Cain’s return.

Eyes are on the characters who could return for Supernatural Season 15. With it being Timothy Omundson’s birthday today, I thought about celebrating it by talking about his character, Cain. Is it possible for this formidable character to return?

There’s not been any comment from the EPs yet about the possibility. However, no reference to Cain doesn’t mean it’s a no. When it comes to returning characters for the final season, it’s always going to come down to the schedules.

More from Supernatural

A few years ago, I would have said Omundson’s character wouldn’t return. The actor had suffered a stroke and was spending time recovering. He, like Rob Benedict, was extremely fortunate to have people around when he suffered the stroke so he got immediate medical attention to save his life.

However, he has been spotted filming, but not for Supernatural. Back in April, he shared a post on his Instagram with a “suck it” message to strokes while filming Psyche: The Movie 2. He’s since shared a number of other recent photos to show that he’s back at it and “not dead yet.”

So, based on health, there is a chance that Omundson could return to our show as Cain. Now the question is whether that will happen. Could it happen?

Well, Cain defies the rules of TV shows. He was seemingly killed off in Supernatural Season 10 without actually seeing his body. We were just left to assume that it really happened. With the release of the Darkness, because Dean got rid of the Mark of Cain, we were left with the sort of confirmation that Cain was well and truly dead.

But that doesn’t mean he’s gone for good, right? I mean, this is Supernatural and what’s dead doesn’t necessarily stay dead. So?

The return of Cain, like any character, could be written in. There’s the option of bringing one from an alternate world or the opportunity to bring our Cain back from the dead. I wouldn’t write anything off, but at the same time, this is more speculation and wishful thinking.

All we’re happy about right now is that Timothy Omundson is celebrating his 50th birthday and is well.
