Where can you stream The Lion King (2019)?
By Sandy C.
The Lion King is still king at the box office and will continue to loudly roar for a few more weeks to come. When it leaves theaters, where can fans stream the movie?
Earlier this month, The Lion King premiered in theaters and received a mixed bag of reviews. While most critics loved it and praised it with stellar reviews, audiences beg to differ. I’m in between. The animation is beautiful and the nostalgia and voice cast takes this movie to another level. Is this a level higher and more powerful than the original animated movie delivers, though? Not at all.
The original is so much better, and that, I’m sure, we can all agree on. The main reason for this (and what critics and audiences are hating on the most) is the problem with The Lion King (2019) displaying emotions.
In short, the characters don’t seem to be able to have any emotions at all. Their face expressions and body language are pretty much the same throughout. Thanks to animation from the original 1994 movie, the animals are able to smile and appear worried, something the new movie doesn’t do.

Without emotions, what’s the point of The Lion King and the heart of the story? Still, I would suggest you go watch it on the big-screen as this movie is a game-changer for film making regardless.
If you would rather wait for the movie to arrive on Digital and Blu-ray/DVD, you still have a few months to go. The wait is even longer for streaming, but streaming a movie is a lot less risky than purchasing a film and end up not liking it.
With that said, when can we expect to see The Lion King on a streaming service and where will that be? Sit tight, this movie may not be available to stream until end of this year, and it’ll likely end up on Disney+ when it rolls out.
Disney+ has shared a debut date — November 12, so this is probably around the time Disney will announce the movies and TV shows available to stream.
