Regal Cinemas has launched an unlimited movies subscription service
By Raymond
Earlier this week, Regal Cinemas launched their unlimited movie ticket subscription plan. Regal Unlimited is Regal’s answer to MoviePass, Sinemia (RIP!) and their biggest competitor AMC Stubs A-List.
During the summer of 2017, MoviePass was an ambitious company that disrupted the movie theater industry by offering one movie per day for a low price of $9.99 per month for unlimited possibilities. The company has had all sorts of controversies and problems since that move, but its influence is still seen until this day.
Since MoviePass’ initial $9.99 one movie a day plan, competitors such as Sinemia have gone bankrupt, theater chains such as Alamo and Cinemark have started their own subscription services, and MoviePass’ loudest critic AMC has created the nation’s largest subscription movie service AMC Stubs A-List.
Earlier this week, Regal Cinemas, the nation’s second largest movie theater chain, launched their subscription movie service, appropriately titled Regal Unlimited. Regal Unlimited allows members to watch whatever movie they want, an unlimited amount of times, at any Regal theater starting at a monthly price of $18.99 plus tax.
The Perks
Regal is the first movie theater chain in the United States to offer a tiered subscription plan with unlimited movies. There are three tiers that members can choose from and they all include a 10% discount on concessions and non-alcoholic beverages, no blackout dates, exclusive screenings, free large popcorn and soft drink on your birthday, and members earn Regal Crown Club credits with every dollar spent.

Hidden Fees and Small Print
Now there are some fees that you should be aware of before signing up. A surcharge of $1 – $3.50 is applied if you attend a theater that is not included in your plan. For movie goers that enjoy premium screenings such as IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX, RPX, 3D & VIP as well as non-recliner premium seating some surcharges will apply. For foreign language films and special movie events, some may be excluded or subject to a surcharge.
