Recent releases, such as Creed and Creed II, don’t really require a prior knowledge of the Rocky franchise in order to be enjoyable, but it helps to know the characters and their backgrounds. Rocky II– The second installment included the first fight between Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky and Apollo Creed, played by Carl Weathers.
Rocky III– Another great entry into the franchise, Rocky III finds our main character hitting rock bottom and climbing out of a rut, with the help of his once enemy-turned-friend Apollo Creed.
Rocky IV– Ivan Drago vs. Rocky Balboa. That’s all anyone needs to know about Rocky IV.
Rocky V– This film follows the relationship between Rocky and his son Rocky Balboa Jr. (played by Sly Stallone’s real life son Sage Stallone).
